Lead Mechanical Engineer for Radar Systems

At Raytheon Technologies, our mission is to support national security and protect freedoms through advanced engineering and technology. We are seeking a dedicated Section Leader to oversee the mechanical design team for the LTAMDS Radar Infrastructure.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 15-25 skilled mechanical engineers, providing leadership and direction.
- Act as the primary liaison with Integrated Product Teams to ensure effective staffing and resource management.
- Supervise the technical performance of engineering leads and individual contributors, offering guidance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Facilitate employee development through mentoring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and operational efficiency within the Mechanical Engineering organization.
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams through all development phases, from proposal generation to production.
- Conduct complex mechanical design and documentation for defense systems, ensuring compliance with system requirements.
- Support integration efforts with suppliers and manufacturing facilities, both domestically and internationally.
- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to devise design solutions and tackle technical challenges.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules, financial goals, and technical specifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Proven expertise in mechanical design, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis.
- Experience in managing engineering budgets and understanding Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Active U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience leading engineering teams with budget and schedule responsibilities.
- Background in mechanical design from concept through production.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an Integrated Product Team environment.
