Financial Planning Specialist – Insurance & Strategy

This position is integral to the Financial Planning Department, assisting financial advisors in providing clients with comprehensive financial security through a meticulous planning process that incorporates both risk management and investment strategies. The focus is on enhancing the productivity and efficiency of financial advisors by offering integrated support in investment, planning, and operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

INSURANCE ASSISTANCE

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new financial advisors within the Planning Department.
  • Ensure compliance by maintaining electronic client files, including scanning and uploading necessary documents.
  • Oversee the insurance application workflow by collaborating with team members and representatives to:
    • Prepare and review applications for accuracy and completeness.
    • Send electronic applications to clients.
    • Address outstanding requirements and coordinate medical examinations.
    • Monitor the Daily Status Report (DSR) and respond to cases requiring attention.
  • Process service requests related to insurance, such as changes in personal information and beneficiary updates.
  • Prepare documentation for annual review meetings.
  • Review submitted work requests for completeness and collaborate with representatives for additional information as needed.
  • Meet bi-weekly with assigned advisors to interpret their Daily Status Report (DSR).
  • Manage client communications for electronic signatures, including policy delivery.
  • Assist in the management of the CRM database.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Director or Leadership Team.

PLANNING ASSISTANCE

  • Collaborate with team members and new advisors to develop comprehensive financial plans for clients.
  • Assist in creating insurance illustrations and solutions based on financial plan outputs.
  • Communicate planning recommendations and their rationale to new advisors.
  • Develop a solid understanding of financial planning principles.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities as directed by the Director or Leadership Team.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Participate in ongoing training sessions and webinars with advisors and office leadership.
  • Build strong working relationships within a network of advisors and team members.
  • Engage in bi-weekly team development and monthly professional growth meetings.
  • Prepare for investment licensing exams and complete coursework from the American College of Financial Services.

Required

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability, thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with clients, advisors, and team members from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Possession of a PA Life Accident & Health license.
