Job Overview

Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the daily operations of the Accounts Receivable team, ensuring effective inventory management and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate follow-up activities to guarantee equitable work distribution and timely collection of accounts.
  • Conduct weekly quality assurance reviews of team outputs.
  • Analyze staff productivity reports on a weekly basis.
  • Provide updates on team productivity to the Accounts Receivable Analyst.
  • Assist with and resolve inquiries from both external and internal clients.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary reports and logs.
  • Stay informed about current healthcare regulations and issues.
  • Identify challenges and collaborate with management to implement solutions.
  • Deliver training, monitoring, and feedback, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained consistently.
  • Monitor team attendance and paid time off usage.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Ensure timely deactivation of remote client access for employees who have been terminated or transferred.
  • Comply with Information Security and HIPAA regulations, ensuring all team members are trained and compliant.
  • Handle patients' protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA standards, enforcing compliance among direct reports.
  • Limit access to PHI to the minimum necessary for job performance.
  • Report any security or HIPAA concerns promptly to the designated officers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospital business office or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with hospital billing and EDI systems, including edits and bridge routines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated reliability, responsibility, and flexibility.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients, colleagues, insurance companies, and hospital staff.
