Service Engineer for Semiconductor Equipment

Position Overview:

Intevac is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to provide exceptional onsite support for our cutting-edge Thin Film process systems. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive approach and exemplary customer service skills, along with a solid foundation in semiconductor technology.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver onsite assistance for equipment installation, warranty services, and maintenance support.
  • Collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure seamless customer coordination during assembly, testing, and performance validation.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and quality assessments of equipment.
  • Provide training and guidance to customers on the operation and upkeep of Intevac production systems, focusing on Best Known Methods to enhance equipment performance.
  • Act as a technical liaison for warranty and production maintenance support, addressing system troubleshooting, spare part replacement, and performance testing.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback to relevant departments to enhance customer satisfaction and resolve issues.

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong communication skills to foster positive customer relationships.
  • Technical leadership capabilities to guide teams effectively.
  • A proven track record of achieving high customer satisfaction levels.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, meters, scopes, and other specialized equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Electronics or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years of electro-mechanical experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Electronics or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or a related field, including at least 1 year working with Capital Semiconductor equipment or similar machinery.

Additional Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license and passport.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and flexibility to work various shifts, including overtime and on-call duties.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced technical communication skills.
  • Understanding of customer processes and requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging accounts and maintain superior customer relations.
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems utilizing cryogenic and turbo molecular technologies.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000.
