Your Team and Your Contribution

This position is within the Customer Solutions Group / Application Engineering team, specifically focusing on the Switching Business Unit.

What You Will Experience

  • Engage with Marvell's advanced Cloud/Datacenter (Teralynx family) and Enterprise (Prestera family) switching technologies.
  • Assist customers throughout the entire lifecycle from initial presentations and system evaluations to SDK integration and deployment.
  • Support new project initiatives by participating in Proofs of Concept (PoCs), demonstrations, and resolving hardware and software technical challenges for customers.
  • Set up and configure switches in the lab environment using SONiC or Linux while running the Marvell SDK.
  • Contribute to the documentation of features, SDK APIs, and publish technical white papers and application notes as required for platforms utilizing Marvell Switch Devices.
  • Provide support for ongoing engineering designs and developments at customer sites.
  • Assist in troubleshooting customer cases, conducting lab and field debugging, reproducing customer issues internally, and collaborating with engineering teams for resolution.
  • Work closely with engineering teams as an escalation point to assist with customer platform setups, debugging, fault isolation, and hardware support.
  • Hands-on coding in C/Python may be required to test specific features and validate bug fixes and SDK releases.
  • Collaborate with customers to integrate Marvell SDK into their Network Operating Systems (NOS), troubleshooting issues encountered during integration and at production/deployment stages.
  • Regularly interface with senior marketing personnel, architects, and principal engineers to provide valuable customer feedback for future product requirements and solutions.
  • Represent Marvell at key industry conferences.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with SAI and SONiC.
  • Prior knowledge of networking ASIC internals.
  • Understanding of PHY/MAC and Serdes technologies.
  • Experience with bootloaders such as uBoot/ONIE.

Qualifications We Seek

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with 10-15 years of relevant professional experience.
  • A Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with 5-10 years of experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and articulate solutions effectively to customers. Previous experience in an Application Engineer role or similar customer-facing position is essential.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of networking concepts including Layer 2, Layer 3, ACLs, tunnels, mirroring, and QoS. Familiarity with enterprise/datacenter switches is advantageous.
  • Experience in NOS development, SDK development, or quality assurance to quickly grasp SDK implementations and debugging processes.
  • Proficiency in programming with C and Python, along with debugging skills using tools like gdb and pdb.
  • Familiarity with build tools and the Linux environment.
  • Experience in developing or supporting platform architectures around switch silicon is highly desirable.
  • Ability to handle lab equipment including switches, routers, servers (Windows/Linux), and traffic generators.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
