Your Role and Contribution

As a Senior Staff Engineer specializing in hardware and silicon validation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high bandwidth transmission over extensive distances.

This specialized team conducts analog validations on amplifiers that facilitate optical electronic devices and receivers. Additionally, we validate silicon photonics, perform upper electronic measurements, and support the coherent digital signal programming unit.

This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies utilized by numerous internal and external clients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and define comprehensive validation and testing plans for Board/Chip level silicon validation and characterization of Marvell's proprietary IPs, including High-Speed SerDes, PLL, ADC, Power Regulators, Temperature Sensors, and more.

• Implement bench automation using Python to facilitate automatic data collection with standard bench equipment and tailored toolsets.

• Set up tests and troubleshoot failures, requiring a solid understanding of system areas and interfaces in collaboration with Architecture, Design, and Pre-silicon Validation teams.

Specific Duties Include:

• Collaborate with the IP design team to establish test specifications that comprehensively cover all aspects necessary for IP validation and characterization.

• Manage device control software, with knowledge of Python, C++, Matlab, and Excel VBA being advantageous.
• Conduct data analysis and prepare silicon test reports.
• Provide debugging support for IP to SoC teams.
• Offer training on IP to Marvell's internal Field Application Engineers.
• Work closely with the IP design team on new chip features, definitions, and initial bring-up.
• Create technical documentation such as application notes, user manuals, and data sheets.Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related disciplines, with 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.

• Strong foundational knowledge in analog/digital circuits and data communication systems.

• Experience or familiarity with semiconductor chip lab testing, measurement, test script development, and electronic test equipment is preferred.

• Familiarity with SerDes technologies such as PCI Express, Ethernet, USB, SATA, SAS, CPRI, JESD, etc., is advantageous.

• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical skills, logical reasoning, and a commitment to problem-solving and task completion.
• Previous experience in hardware validation, hardware-software integration, and developing test plans for networking system features is a plus.
• Knowledge of high-frequency lab instruments like DSO, SSA, VNA is beneficial.Compensation and Benefits
