Position Overview

The Rights and Resources Group (RRG) is a prominent coalition comprising over 150 organizations committed to enhancing the rights of Indigenous Peoples, local communities, Afro-descendant Peoples, and particularly the women within these demographics. RRG harnesses the collective strengths, expertise, and geographical outreach of its members to implement effective and efficient solutions. The coalition amplifies the voices of local communities and actively engages with governments, multilateral institutions, and private sector entities to promote institutional and market reforms that uphold these rights.

Role Summary:

The Program Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the Asia Program's activities, focusing on sub-granting, operational logistics, and administrative assistance for various projects. This position will report directly to the Director for Asia and will collaborate closely with the Asia team and other colleagues across RRG.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management (55%): Oversee the administrative coordination and execution of contracts with partners and consultants, ensuring all processes from initiation to closure are handled efficiently.
  • Administrative Support (25%): Organize logistics for meetings, workshops, and events, including travel arrangements and venue preparations.
  • Meetings and Events Coordination (10%): Manage all communications related to event participation and logistics, ensuring smooth execution of Asia Program events.
  • Budget Oversight (5%): Assist in preparing and managing the program budget, tracking obligations and expenditures.
  • Research and Coordination (5%): Engage in team meetings, support program implementation, and conduct research to inform strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, with equivalent work experience considered.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is essential, preferably within an international context.
  • Proven experience in operational and administrative support is required.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional Asian language is advantageous.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and independently.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, especially within Asia.
