About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). As an Administrative Assistant, you will provide critical support to our environmental agency, ensuring the smooth operation of our office and contributing to our mission of protecting public health and natural resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to Public Information Requests (PIRs) and track progress
• Prepare and proofread correspondence, spreadsheets, and reports
• Process incoming and outgoing mail, provide customer service, and answer multi-line phone systems
• Develop and maintain databases, record keeping, and filing systems
• Perform staffing functions related to recruitment, processing new and separating employees, and conduct audits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of full-time experience in an office setting
• Fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each 6 months of required experience
• Salary: $3,392.00 monthly (Administrative Assistant III), $3,741.00 monthly (Administrative Assistant IV), or $4,137.00 monthly (Administrative Assistant V)
