The Opportunity

MassMutual is seeking a highly skilled Investment Accounting Consultant to join our Controllers Organization of Corporate Finance. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing and executing investment accounting and analysis, including oversight of financial reporting outcomes of all MassMutual investment products.

Our team is comprised of highly motivated professionals who are dedicated to driving process improvement, meaningful analysis, and control execution for insurance accounting activities.

The Impact

As an Investment Accounting Consultant, you will contribute to our impact by ensuring the accurate, timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close cycles for complex investment accounting. You will analyze and prepare information related to statutory investment reporting as governed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). This includes assisting in the analysis of investment structures for determination of reporting, accounting, and risk-based capital.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis of investment structures for determination of reporting, accounting, and risk-based capital.
  • Contribute to the completion of the investment accounting of financial transactions ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting regulations.
  • Monitor and govern, oversee, process change, and transaction controls, including those executed by third parties that provide accounting services to the Company.
  • Contribute to various initiative work focusing on increasing efficiency and adding value.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in investment accounting, investment operations, or investment-related field and be familiar with basic investments such as bonds and stocks.
  • 1+ years of experience in MS Excel and Microsoft Access.
