About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Accounting Specialist to join our team at New York Life Insurance Company. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting for our investment portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial reporting deliverables, including senior management reporting, investment committee reporting, statutory blue books, and statutory notes/disclosures.
- Review and manage day-to-day responsibilities, perform self-review, and communicate status timely to managers.
- Review financial reporting for internal and external clients, including regulatory requirements.
- Take initiative to assist the team in all capacities, including assisting senior associates/managers in various projects or ad-hoc tasks and providing support to the offshore team.
- Coordinate and liaise with shared services on the preparation and delivery of investment-related data.
- Ensure SOX compliance, including developing, documenting, testing, and reviewing controls and procedures.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of investment accounting policy in accordance with statutory standards/regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task in a highly productive environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and self-motivating skills.
- Team-oriented, with awareness and desire to help.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint. SAP/Sharepoint (preferred).
