Operations Manager Job Description

Air General, a leading national cargo handling company, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) location. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all facets of cargo handling, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and meeting all airline customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and control all contract handling services on behalf of the customer.
  • Implement procedures to meet customer targets and service requirements.
  • Ensure handling services do not adversely affect the safe and punctual operation of the customer's flight services.
  • Hire and develop a highly motivated workforce.
  • Ensure all necessary training standards are achieved or exceeded.
  • Comply with TSA Directives and security procedures.
  • Initiate directives and procedures to enhance service levels.
  • Meet regularly with managers and supervisors to establish feedback and action plans.
  • Take prompt corrective actions where service levels are not met.
  • Ensure all incidents or service complaints are fully investigated.
Qualifications:
  • College degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of management experience.
  • 5 years minimum Domestic and International air cargo experience required.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • PC proficiency (MS Office applications).
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.
  • Must have valid driver license.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to obtain valid airport I.D. badge.
  • Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 70lbs.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to clearly understand and communicate in English when performing essential job functions.
