L3Harris Technologies is a leading provider of advanced systems and solutions in the defense and aerospace sectors. We are seeking a dedicated Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team, focusing on the assurance of product quality and compliance with contractual obligations.

This role is pivotal in safeguarding customer interests regarding product integrity and ensuring that all quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Review purchase orders, contracts, and specifications to ascertain quality requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to these requirements at every project stage, from initial quotations to final delivery.
  • Interpret contractual obligations and collaborate with design and production teams to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare Certifications of Conformance (C of C) for materials and services delivered to customers.
  • Review shipping documentation for quality compliance.
  • Manage waivers and deviations as necessary.
  • Coordinate with customers to schedule inspections of materials and services.
  • Act as the primary interface with customers for final acceptance of products.
  • Oversee inspection points in the manufacturing process and assess inspection requirements for supplied components.
  • Develop first article packages that include all assemblies and components.
  • Collaborate with supplier quality engineers to evaluate control plans and inspection strategies.
  • Engage with program teams to review manufacturing processes and technical documentation.
  • Assist in investigations of failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide insights for process and design enhancements.
  • Conduct quality briefings for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze quality performance metrics and work with teams to devise improvement strategies.
  • Contribute to product and process development, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production.
  • Support bid and proposal efforts by providing relevant quality information.
  • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of related experience. Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience without a degree will be considered.

Experience in mechanical manufacturing or electronics industries is essential, with at least 7 years of experience in engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.

Proficiency in inspection and gaging techniques, along with 7 years of experience in automated electronic assembly and manufacturing processes, is required. Candidates should also have a minimum of 7 years in a quality or manufacturing role, leading root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Must be a US Citizen.
