Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance our quality assurance programs and processes in accordance with our QA strategy and deliverables within an Agile/Scrum framework. This role involves providing constructive feedback on artifacts generated during the requirements and analysis phases of client projects, authoring comprehensive test cases/scripts, and executing tests for both project and support activities. The ideal candidate will lead testing initiatives while coaching and mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, and contributing to the enhancement of frameworks, tools, processes, and best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and actively participate in testing efforts for data reporting platforms.
- Ensure the maintenance and operational efficiency of automation test suites.
- Analyze requirements to provide insights on completeness and testability.
- Deliver precise estimates for QA activities, including test case design/scripting, test data management, test execution, and defect resolution.
- Identify opportunities to enhance application code quality by increasing unit and integration test coverage.
- Utilize technical expertise to develop, maintain, and execute automation tests.
- Contribute ideas and feedback regarding test automation frameworks and potential improvements.
- Engage in all project-related ceremonies, meetings, and sessions.
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of test environments, promoting their optimal use.
Experience Required
- Proven experience in Data Testing, Data Conversion, Data Migration, Data Transformations, Data Profiling, Data Analysis, and Data Quality Validation.
- Experience in testing ETL mappings to extract data from various sources such as Oracle, SQL Server, and flat files into target tables using transformations.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing end-to-end data testing strategies and developing data testing automation frameworks.
- Involvement in end-to-end product feature testing and business report testing, including designing, testing, and troubleshooting data and reports.
- Familiarity with database systems like SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2, along with experience in writing complex queries and creating stored procedures.
- Understanding of Azure Cloud, ADF, and GCP.
- Exposure to Python, PySpark, and Databricks notebooks.
- Collaborate with project teams, development, operations, and infrastructure resources to recommend solutions for data issues.
- Experience in defect lifecycle management, including logging, replication, triaging, verification, closure, and metrics reporting.
- Ability to acquire and manage high volumes of test data necessary for test execution.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Experience in test environment and test data management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
Specialization/Role Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software product development and delivery.
- 4+ years of experience in ETL testing and SQL.
- 3+ years of experience with Informatica Power Center, IDQ, or similar tools.
- 3+ years of experience in developing data test plans, test scenarios, test cases, executing tests, and documenting results.
- 2+ years of experience with Azure Cloud tools such as ADF, PySpark, and Databricks notebooks.
- 2+ years of experience with GCP, Google Spanner, and BigQuery.
- Experience with Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib.
- Ability to interpret and create system and architecture diagrams.
- Experience in summarizing large sets of metrics into meaningful graphs and reports.
- Familiarity with the latest cloud technologies.
