Job Overview
The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting the Supply Chain at GE Aerospace. This position focuses on enhancing quality standards for designated suppliers, including the execution of quality plans. Responsibilities include conducting First Article Inspections, addressing non-conformance issues, and leading Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) initiatives to minimize discrepancies. The role also involves supplier selection through rigorous qualification processes, managing supplier performance via scorecards, and conducting audits to ensure compliance while fostering improvement plans as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development activities. This encompasses supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and guiding key suppliers towards achieving industrial excellence.
- Leverage extensive knowledge in the field and analytical skills to implement policies and strategies effectively. A foundational understanding of related disciplines is also required.
- Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues, potentially leading small-scale projects with manageable risks and resource needs. Facilitate discussions to achieve consensus among team members on relevant topics.
- Operate with a degree of autonomy while adhering to established functional practices and policies. The role allows for modifications to procedures as long as the outcomes meet quality, volume, and timeliness standards.
- Utilize sound judgment to propose alternative solutions for complex, everyday challenges. Prioritize information effectively for data analysis, drawing on technical expertise and analytical reasoning.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of three years of experience in manufacturing quality.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required.
