Quality Assurance Engineer - Mobile Applications

Location: Candidates must reside within a reasonable distance from the designated office.

Schedule: Hybrid work model (2 days remote, 3 days onsite)

Contract Duration: Initial 6-month contract with potential for permanent placement based on performance evaluation.

Required Experience: Minimum of 7 years in Quality Assurance (QA) roles.

Note: We are not considering C2C or sponsorship candidates at this time.

Position Overview:

This role is centered around ensuring the quality of mobile applications, specifically for Android platforms. Responsibilities include reviewing requirements and project artifacts, creating test cases/scripts, and executing tests for various projects and support tasks. The position demands technical expertise to design, maintain, and execute automated tests while pinpointing areas for enhancing application code quality through increased unit and integration test coverage.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7+ years in QA, with at least 3 years focused on mobile application testing.
  • Agile/Scrum Methodology: Familiarity with QA processes and deliverables in an Agile environment.
  • Defect Management: Proficient in tools such as Jira and Rally.
  • Automation & Performance Testing: Solid understanding and hands-on experience.
  • Testing Methodologies: Knowledge of risk-based testing approaches.
  • Environment & Data Management: Experience in managing test environments and data.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Strong skills in both areas.
  • Selenium Testing: 3+ years of experience writing Selenium tests in Java or JavaScript using tools like WebDriver, WebDriver IO, Marathon, and Appium.
  • Test Frameworks: 3+ years with tools such as Junit, TestNG, Mocha, and Jasmine.
  • Continuous Integration Tools: 3+ years of experience with Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab.
  • Selenium Grid: At least 1 year of experience.
  • Defect Tracking Tools: 3+ years of experience using Jira.
  • Test Case Management: 2+ years with Quality Center/ALM.
  • SQL: 2+ years of experience using SQL for backend database validation.
  • Selenium: Preferably utilized in the most recent project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation Test Suites: Ensure maintenance and operational efficiency.
  • Requirements Review: Provide feedback on completeness and testability of requirements.
  • QA Estimations: Deliver accurate estimates for test case design, data management, execution, and defect resolution.
  • Code Quality Enhancement: Identify opportunities to improve unit and integration test coverage.
  • Test Development: Create, maintain, and execute automated tests.
  • Framework Improvement: Offer insights and suggestions for test automation frameworks.
  • Project Engagement: Actively participate in all project-related meetings and ceremonies.
  • Test Environment Support: Assist in the setup and maintenance of test environments.
  • Quality Metrics: Understand and apply core quality metrics to drive improvements.
