Position Overview


Under the guidance of management and physician leadership, the Senior Clinical Assistant is responsible for overseeing and executing tasks related to clinical operations. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating patient flow by assisting in the delivery of primary and preventive healthcare, performing technical procedures, and adhering to lab protocols under the direction of healthcare providers.

The Senior Clinical Assistant will collaborate with management to enhance office efficiencies in line with established policies and procedures, ensuring smooth operations that prioritize support for physicians, clinic personnel, and management, all while embodying the "Service First" philosophy to foster patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
• Act as a vital support to the physician/provider by delivering primary healthcare and managing patient care.
• Work collaboratively with clerical staff to optimize operational workflows and patient movement.
• Engage with external healthcare facilities and agencies regarding patient care and insurance matters.
• Maintain current competencies, showcasing the ability to communicate effectively with leadership and accreditation bodies about processes and workflows.
• Perform front office tasks to provide coverage as necessary.
• Offer support in other departments or locations as required.
• Exhibit exceptional customer service skills and uphold the model of patient and family-centered care.
• Undertake and be formally assigned at least two additional responsibilities as part of primary duties, dedicating 20% or more of time to:
- Identifying primary care gaps in care, outreach, and chart preparation
- Serving in a residency clinic role
- Conducting high-level disinfection
- Acting as a designated preceptor for new hires
- Participating in or leading special programs/grants (e.g., process improvement initiatives)
- Engaging in care management activities
- Providing qualified language interpretation
- Serving as a Super User for EPIC or specific competencies
- Offering advanced provider support for complex procedures and scheduling.
Qualifications
• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Required: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, including clinical rotation, or equivalent experience.
• Required: 1 year of relevant experience, including 12 months of Medical Assistant work experience or a completed internship with 6 months of work experience.
• Preferred: 2-3 years of Medical Assistant experience
• Certifications: Must obtain at least one certification from the preferred list upon hire
• Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
