Job Title: Patient Care Coordinator I

Job Summary:

Regional Cancer Care Associates is seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Coordinator I to join our team. This role serves as the patients medical liaison among the practice, hospital, support services, and payors. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to multitask, and possess a positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact patients prior to their first appointment to obtain basic chart information and coordinate physician referrals.
  • Schedule oncology-related medical appointments and resolve insurance billing and coding issues.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the medical chart and maintain patient demographics.
  • Assist patients with obtaining financial resources and provide educational materials.
  • Network with community agencies to learn about and maintain a resource list.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two years of directly related experience in medical coding, billing, patient advocacy, or social services.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, medical billing systems, and Microsoft Office Outlook & Word.
