Role Overview: The Corporate Legal Assistant will undertake comprehensive secretarial and administrative responsibilities for attorneys with minimal oversight. This role demands a high level of independent judgment and discretion, along with a thorough understanding of organizational protocols and precedents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative tasks including processing new client/matter requests, client invoices, time reports, and expense documentation.
  • Handle litigation-related duties such as drafting correspondence, spreadsheets, presentations, and templates, ensuring complex formatting and preparation of documents for submission to various courts.
  • Collaborate effectively with courts, agencies, and internal departments, completing assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Perform word processing for client-related documents, ensuring accuracy in proofreading and formatting.
  • Maintain physical and electronic files, manage case dockets, and coordinate attorney schedules.
  • Assist with incoming and outgoing correspondence and manage appointment calendars.
  • Provide support to summer associates and visiting attorneys as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of three to five years of experience in a mid-size or large law firm is essential. Familiarity with general office procedures and legal terminology is required.

Skills: Proficiency in advanced word processing and computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities are crucial.

Education: A high school diploma is required; two years of college or equivalent experience is preferred.

Work Environment: This position is based in a professional office setting, with potential collaboration across different offices and time zones. Occasional overtime may be necessary.

Compensation: The annual salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $98,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations.
