Position Summary:

The Leadless Clinical Specialist serves as the foremost authority on leadless products and therapies within the field. This role encompasses providing procedural, technical, clinical, educational, and sales guidance to facilitate the safe integration and expansion of Abbott's leadless technology. The Specialist collaborates closely with both internal teams and external clients to promote therapy adoption and ensure procedural excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver primary case support for initial leadless device implementations, leveraging extensive knowledge of best practices, clinical evidence, and technical product expertise.
  • Collaborate with local sales teams to ensure the safe proliferation of leadless therapy within designated accounts and facilitate the transfer of technical knowledge to the commercial team.
  • Support national physician training initiatives, emphasizing hands-on training by enhancing the physician training experience in collaboration with the education team.
  • Establish and nurture trusting relationships with physician implanters through demonstrated technical and clinical proficiency.
  • Oversee local educational and training activities, including coordination, setup, and content delivery. Facilitate simulated procedures, troubleshooting, and instruction for relevant stakeholders, including local Abbott teams, hospital staff, physicians, and clinic personnel.
  • Assist in certifying local Abbott personnel and training them on the use of field-based simulation systems.
  • Collaborate with Leadless Professional Development colleagues to achieve shared objectives related to leadless therapy.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks, such as case tracking and monitoring physician training progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback to internal stakeholders to enhance future customer experiences.
  • Employ best business practices to ensure success and cost-effectiveness in areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with Abbott policies and practices among employees.

Equipment Utilization:

Utilizes personal computing devices (desktop and/or laptop), peripheral equipment, cellular phones, standard office equipment, and sophisticated computer-based haptic simulation systems.

Work Environment:

This role operates from a field office or personal residence, requiring considerable travel and time spent on the road using personal or commercial transportation, including stays in hotels and dining at restaurants.

Physical Requirements:

Job responsibilities necessitate mobility and stamina, involving significant walking, standing, and sitting; manual dexterity for handling and demonstrating company products; and effective communication skills. Lifting requirements typically reach up to 25 pounds, with potential for occasional increases. Clear vision and good depth perception are essential.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience with medical devices, preferably CRM products.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and evaluate technologically complex devices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • High comfort level in navigating medical environments, including labs and hospitals.
  • Proven success in leading and influencing customers, with the ability to provide guidance as needed.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of medical device industry policies and procedures.
  • Expertise in verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with commonly used software applications, such as Microsoft Office.
  • This position requires significant business travel.

  • Professional training or certification.
  • Previous sales experience and/or demonstrated business acumen.
