Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our Cardiac Sonography team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of healthcare by delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the development of our echocardiography lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Technical Director to ensure the highest level of clinical excellence and compliance with ICAEL requirements.
  • Lead and mentor junior sonographers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in clinical education and training programs for students, residents, and fellows, focusing on physics and image acquisition.
  • Assist with research studies on new echocardiography techniques and technology, attending meetings and learning new techniques to enhance our lab's capabilities.
  • Contribute to quality measures and outcome data to ensure a high-level echocardiography lab.
  • Perform and train others on research echocardiograms, as needed.
  • Coordinate with the research team to ensure smooth trial protocols and patient care.
Requirements
  • A minimum of five years' experience in echocardiography, with a strong background in clinical expertise.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of ultrasound technology, vascular technology, or cardiovascular program; a Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.
  • Current registry certificate from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with RDCS certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with RCS certification.
  • Five years of echocardiography clinical experience, with a strong focus on leadership and mentorship.
  • One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.
