About the Role

At Hispanic Housing Development Corporation (HHDC), we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our properties, providing a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, and appliances.
  • Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address any maintenance issues.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff to complete tasks and projects.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, including lawn care, snow removal, and gardening.
  • Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, as well as other tasks as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certificate in apartment maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance or related field; experience in apartment maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights; must be physically fit and able to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; must be able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required; must have good driving record and insurance.
