Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Guide interdisciplinary teams through comprehensive ESG assessments to identify and articulate critical sustainability issues.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of environmental performance, pinpointing areas for enhancement, establishing measurable objectives, and providing regular updates on progress.
  • Perform thorough analyses using data and benchmarks to assess current sustainability practices and identify future opportunities.

Reporting and Accountability

  • Oversee the creation of Decarbonize's annual sustainability report, collaborating with various teams to compile essential data while ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Manage the submission process for sustainability reporting frameworks, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders regarding our progress.
  • Work closely with Investor Relations and Legal teams to address ESG-related inquiries throughout the year.

Operational Integration

  • Lead initiatives to weave sustainability principles into business operations, including supply chain management and product development.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to cultivate a culture of sustainability that aligns with organizational goals.
  • Establish partnerships with external organizations and industry groups to advance sustainability efforts and maximize impact.
  • Develop and implement employee training programs to enhance awareness of sustainability issues and empower staff participation.
  • Effectively manage budgets and resources to fulfill sustainability commitments and promote continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, business management, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in sustainability management, ideally within the retail or consumer goods sector.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and executing impactful sustainability initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental challenges, social responsibility principles, and relevant regulations.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities, with a proven ability to lead diverse teams and navigate complex projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze data and develop innovative solutions to sustainability challenges.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development is advantageous.
  • Certifications in sustainability-related fields (e.g., LEED, CSR, GRI) are a plus.
  • A genuine passion for sustainability and a commitment to positively impacting the environment and society.
