Job Summary

The Site Sustainability Manager is a key role at SBM Management Services, responsible for leading the company's efforts to achieve zero-waste initiatives. This position will oversee a team of hourly employees in manual waste sortation and partner with the custodial and facilities teams to ensure program success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Sustainable Programs: Design and execute waste sortation and green initiatives within SBM, including green supplies, equipment, and processes.
  • Lead a Team of Front-Line Employees: Supervise and direct a team of hourly employees to achieve sustainability goals.
  • Ensure Compliance and Policy Implementation: Direct programs and implement policies to ensure total compliance with contract duties between SBM and customers.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with the site's custodial manager, operations team, and Corporate Sustainability Manager to develop KPIs and benchmarks.
  • Manage Waste Vendors: Oversee non-hazardous solid waste vendors, including placement, pull schedules, full containers, and maximized weights and costs.
  • Prepare and Direct Supplies and Equipment: Ensure the availability of necessary supplies and equipment to support sustainability initiatives.
  • Review Customer Requests: Assess customer requests for service to identify causes, types of malfunctions, and address with the manager.
  • Implement Company Policies and Goals: Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Liaise with Contractors and Customers: Establish and maintain positive relationships with contractors, customers, employees, and subcontractors.

  • Previous Supervisory Experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to Sort Waste by Hand
  • Ability to Lift 40lbs
