About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sustainability Analyst, Chemistry to join our Global Sustainability team at Gap Inc.

This role is responsible for administering key chemical compliance and sustainable chemistry initiatives, ensuring alignment with domestic and international chemical regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field, with experience in chemicals management and compliance for the apparel, footwear, or consumer products industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chemical Compliance Management: Oversee the administration of the Gap Inc. Restricted Substances List (RSL) program, including reviewing RSL test reports, providing technical assessments, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Identify key business risks and opportunities related to chemistry and chemicals management, monitoring regulatory developments in the space, and adapting Gap Inc.'s chemicals strategy in alignment with company priorities.
  • Industry Representation: Represent Gap Inc. in AFIRM Group and other relevant industry initiatives as needed.
  • Sustainability and Innovation: Support brand sustainability and innovation goals related to chemicals and chemical processes, researching and framing sustainable chemistry recommendations and strategies.
  • Supply Chain Support: Provide subject matter expertise related to chemicals used in production and industry best-practices to Supply Chain teams.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science, or a comparable field, with laboratory testing experience and familiarity with the chemical regulatory space desirable.
  • Skills: Superior analytical skills, fluency with spreadsheets, high attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, self-motivation, and ability to communicate at all levels.
