Tetra Tech Inc. is currently in search of a dedicated Sustainability Operations Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in advancing energy conservation and enhancing resilience initiatives within our operations. Your Responsibilities

As a Sustainability Operations Manager, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive energy management services. Your role will involve identifying energy conservation opportunities and facilitating the execution of projects and initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption and operational costs. You will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external partners to achieve energy and cost savings while meeting organizational goals.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and developing energy efficiency enhancements for facilities
  • Conducting regular facility walkthroughs to perform energy audits and pinpoint conservation opportunities
  • Exploring distributed generation options
  • Advancing renewable energy initiatives
  • Providing training on energy management
  • Conducting design reviews
  • Analyzing energy and utility data
  • Recommending improvements for energy procurement
  • Suggesting enhancements for operations and maintenance
  • Drafting detailed audit reports and other technical documentation
  • Supporting the implementation of energy-related projects
  • Collaborating effectively with clients and team members
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess 5 to 12 years of experience in energy management or engineering, with a strong background in HVAC systems, energy auditing, project development, and optimization strategies. Experience in federal or defense facilities is advantageous.

Qualifications

The position requires:
  • Expertise in utility information systems and energy management technologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent analytical and presentation abilities
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • Capability to produce high-quality technical documentation
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly spreadsheets and databases
A degree in engineering or a related energy field is required. Certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is preferred or must be obtained within one year.
