Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee patient intake to effectively align with daily appointment schedules
  • Assess presenting concerns, medical history, orders, and update electronic medical records (EMR) accordingly
  • Assist Physicians or Advanced Practitioners during examinations or procedures
  • Collect vital signs and prepare patients for consultations
  • Proficient in medical terminology and medication refill processes
  • Support appointment scheduling, manage phone inquiries, and maintain patient records
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment
  • Operate efficiently in a dynamic clinic environment
  • Appropriately escalate issues beyond established protocols to address patient needs
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and privacy standards while discussing sensitive health information with patients or their authorized representatives
  • Meet performance and service level expectations as outlined in "Performance Metrics"
  • Collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, ideally in a Primary Care setting
  • Active and current certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Experience with Athena EMR is advantageous
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities
  • Proficient in managing confidential and sensitive information; understanding of HIPAA regulations
  • Familiarity with basic office software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
