Position Overview:

Beacon Street USA is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role involves the development, analysis, and enhancement of financial models and algorithms within our organization. Our department is inundated with vast amounts of data and requires an individual with a comprehensive understanding of financial models and terminology to devise solutions that will uncover emerging trends. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in SQL, with additional experience in Python being advantageous. The successful applicant will be adept at aggregating, normalizing, and cleansing data. We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background and demonstrable experience in Data Science within a Financial Services context. This role will involve collaborating with our financial researchers, editors, and marketing teams to extract data from our warehouse and produce various financial market reports, algorithms, and portfolio/strategy backtests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple teams to identify challenges, recognize opportunities, and present insights.
  • Determine predictive features for identified challenges/opportunities and implement them through machine learning algorithms within a predictive analytics framework.
  • Extract necessary data from the Data Warehouse or other systems as required, utilizing direct SQL extracts or frameworks such as Looker and Tableau.
  • Develop backtests and reports on various financial models and algorithms.
  • Investigate and enhance Beacon Street USA's extensive financial data by designing custom algorithms or indicators based on market data and trends.
  • Perform additional tasks as required within the broader Data and Business Intelligence teams, including visualization tasks, metadata model development, data loading, and data cleansing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science or a related quantitative discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Data Science.
  • Highly skilled in SQL.
  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Comfortable working within a Predictive Analytics Framework.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Preferred background in Finance Technology.
  • Able to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to perform sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing.
  • Visual acuity for reading and using computer screens.
  • Ability to hear and communicate effectively.
  • Capable of moving freely within an office or remote working environment.
  • Proficient in using office equipment such as phones, computers, keyboards, and mice for extended periods.
  • Fluency in the English language.
