Position Overview: The Retail Operations Supervisor is tasked with mastering the responsibilities associated with the Store Manager role while cultivating the necessary skills for effective leadership. Key responsibilities include delivering an exceptional customer experience, team development, sales enhancement, inventory oversight, and financial management.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Team Development: Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and retain a proficient team.
  • Customer Engagement: Ensure a remarkable customer service experience by following the GURA principles: Greet the Customer, Uncover Needs, Recommend Solutions, and Appreciate the Customer.
  • Store Environment: Foster a welcoming atmosphere that promotes inclusivity.
  • Operational Planning: Schedule and organize daily tasks for team members to optimize store operations.
  • Leadership: Guide team members to provide customers with an outstanding shopping experience.
  • Communication: Relay company policies and procedures effectively to the team.
  • Workplace Culture: Create a positive work environment through recognition and empowerment.
  • Problem Solving: Address conflicts and challenges for both team members and customers.
  • Sales Management: Learn to manage sales and profitability, focusing on achieving financial targets.
  • Safety and Productivity: Promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee daily merchandise flow to maintain stock levels and inventory accuracy.
  • Merchandising: Assist in organizing merchandise resets according to company standards.
  • Market Analysis: Evaluate competitive landscape in collaboration with Operations and Merchandising teams.
  • Administrative Duties: Train on processing required paperwork on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Inventory Control: Manage periodic price adjustments and communicate inventory needs.
  • Special Projects: Learn to coordinate special sales events.
  • Team Relations: Uphold and reinforce the mission and values of the company.
  • Budgeting: Train to manage budgeting and sales forecasting.

Qualifications:

Experience: Previous retail experience and knowledge in farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding is highly preferred. Supervisory experience is advantageous. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.

Education: A high school diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science or a Business-related field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills: Candidates must have a valid driver's license for company-related travel, be proficient in processing information and merchandise through the system and POS, and possess the ability to read, write, and count accurately. Candidates should be able to access all areas of the store, operate necessary equipment, and lift merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions: Normal office working conditions apply, with physical requirements including standing, walking, reaching overhead, and driving.
