Overview:

The Operational Excellence Program Leader will play a crucial role in enhancing plant operations across various levels by developing, planning, and executing strategic initiatives and performance metrics. This role demands an individual capable of facilitating and driving transformation in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment, utilizing exceptional interpersonal skills. A key aspect of success in this position is the ability to pinpoint and implement operational enhancements at all levels through a hands-on approach that fosters value creation and organizational commitment as a change agent in alignment with Cree's Operational Excellence objectives. This position is based on-site and reports directly to the Director of Operational Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the formulation of manufacturing strategies for all production and distribution assets to ensure that goals are achieved in safety, quality, profitability, waste minimization, and team performance.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to all operational levels on the application of Lean Six Sigma principles and tools.
- Participate in and plan the execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing plant performance in safety, quality, delivery, inventory management, productivity, and cost efficiency, while establishing a functional focus on achieving 5S standards with process, metrics, and accountability at all levels.
- Analyze complex operational data from diverse sources to derive actionable insights regarding root causes or improvement opportunities.
- Concentrate on business performance enhancements that result in zero accidents, defect-free products, timely delivery, and cost efficiency by collaborating with plant process owners and champions to drive outcomes.
- Demonstrate expertise in the application and implementation of Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including: Toyota Production System, Lean Manufacturing, Standard Work Deployment, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Total Quality Management, Kaizen, TAKT, Kanban, the Eight Wastes, 5S, Poka-Yoke, PDCA, Hoshin Kanri, Root Cause Analysis, Workshop Management, and Key Performance Indicators.

Qualifications:

- A minimum of 7 years of practical experience in production management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years dedicated to applying lean methodologies and training others.
- A results-oriented leadership style characterized by strong impact and influencing capabilities.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related fields) or Operations Management is preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is required.

This role may involve additional responsibilities and/or tasks as assigned by management.
