Job Overview: Assist in providing technological support within the educational environment. Reports to: Executive Director of Information Services.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of computer systems and associated technologies.
  • Familiarity with various software applications.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with faculty and students regarding their technology-related needs and challenges.
  • Capability to aid educators in integrating software into their teaching practices.
  • Ability to independently resolve minor technical issues.
  • Collaborative approach to working with students and staff.
  • High school diploma or GED; preferred completion of at least 36 college credit hours in Information Systems, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems.
  • Physical ability to reach, bend, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment medical examination, including tuberculosis screening.
  • Pass a background check through the Regional Office of Education, including Federal Bureau of Investigation clearance.

Physical Requirements:

Utilization of resources from other departments may be necessary to fulfill job responsibilities. The role involves physical demands such as occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; and some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the position requires approximately 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing.

Key Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for supporting teachers and students in the use of technology within the educational setting from early learning programs through grade 8. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing hardware and software assistance to educators and support staff.
  • Conducting software training sessions.
  • Installing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including login problems and printing errors.
  • Ensuring all technology equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in computer labs.
  • Facilitating effective use and integration of software packages among staff and students.
  • Preparing technology resources for scheduled classes upon request.
  • Staying updated on advancements in instructional technologies through workshops.
  • Collaborating with school administrators to create and manage an equitable schedule for computer lab usage.
  • Assisting in the development and review of computer lab procedures for staff and students.

Compensation and Employment Terms:

This position is on an as-needed basis. Completion of required training through the Global Compliance Network is expected within the first 45 days of employment. The role is classified as FLSA Non-Exempt.

Evaluation:

Performance will be assessed in accordance with the policies established for the evaluation of Educational Support Personnel.
