Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality ABA services as part of a multidisciplinary team for children aged 2-21 in both center-based and home settings.
- Conduct direct 1:1 or small group therapy sessions for children and young adults with autism, following treatment plans established by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Maintain a consistent caseload of therapy hours each week.
- Ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Implement treatment strategies across various areas, including communication, social skills, readiness to learn, self-care, alternative behaviors, and behavior modification as directed by the BCBA.
- Inspire clients by customizing activities to align with their interests.
- Respond calmly and purposefully to challenging behaviors in line with the client's Behavior Intervention Plan.
- Assist with assessments under BCBA supervision, ensuring proper training in assessment tools (e.g., VBMAPP, ABLLS).
- Support the maintenance of order and safety within the therapy environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues on related tasks to enhance the overall operations of the therapy center.
- Provide coverage for client sessions as needed.
- Engage in team meetings and collaborate with a diverse group of therapists to share information and implement effective therapy.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance professional skills through various formats, including in-person and virtual sessions.
- Complete all assigned tasks related to staff meetings and training by specified deadlines.
- Fulfill daily operational duties within the center, including opening/closing tasks, cleaning, organizing, and preparing session materials.
- Accurately document client performance through data collection and insurance notes using an online platform, ensuring timely billing for all appointments.
- Implement treatment plans in multiple settings, including the center, home, and community, with required travel to clients' locations.
- May involve assisting with toilet training and diaper changes.
- To succeed in this role, individuals must effectively perform all essential duties.
- The qualifications listed are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
- Adhere to and uphold BYS core principles, policies, and procedures.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Minimum age of 18 at the time of hire
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in psychology, communication disorders, education, or a related field.
• Strong interest in learning about and working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Willingness to learn about Applied Behavior Analysis and develop professionally as a Behavior Technician.
• Ability to uphold quality, safety, and infection control standards.
• Effective communication skills with various stakeholders (clients, parents, team members, and therapists).
• Proficiency in technology applications, games, and web-based tools using an iPad.
• Commitment to maintaining BYS core principles, policies, and procedures.
