Position Overview:

The Procurement Specialist will oversee the creation and tracking of purchase orders, conduct cost assessments, and manage supplier relationships to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. This role includes updating and maintaining management reports and ERP supply chain data, as well as monitoring inventory levels and contributing to the development of inventory management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Order Management: Create, monitor, and adjust purchase orders as necessary.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough evaluations of supplier products and services, including Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes.
  • Negotiation: Engage heavily in negotiating costs for all purchased items, components, and materials.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Supplier Research: Investigate and recommend new suppliers to enhance cost efficiency, performance, and quality.
  • Performance Management: Assess and manage supplier performance metrics.
  • Collaboration: Work with quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams to address issues with non-conforming materials, ensuring resolutions meet both customer and company standards.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain management reports and files.
  • Invoice Management: Communicate with accounting and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies, ensuring alignment between purchase orders and invoices.
  • Supplier Transitions: Manage the transition processes for suppliers and products.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires prompt responses to the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills in forecasting, planning, and inventory management.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Understanding of cost reduction strategies and initiatives.
  • Previous relevant experience is preferred.
