The Procurement Specialist will oversee the creation and management of purchase orders, conduct cost assessments, and handle supplier relations to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure the highest quality and standards for ASSA ABLOY's final products.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Focus
- Management of Purchase Orders: Creation, Monitoring, Adjustment
- Conducting Cost/Value Assessments on supplier offerings, including RFQ processes
- Active participation in negotiations for all purchased components and materials
- Establishing and nurturing key supplier partnerships
- Identifying and recommending new suppliers to enhance cost efficiency, performance, and quality
- Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance
- Collaborating with quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams to address non-conforming materials and resolve issues to meet both customer and company standards
- Preparing management reports and documentation
- Coordinating with accounting and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure alignment between purchase orders and invoices
- Facilitating transitions of suppliers and products
- Thriving in a fast-paced environment that demands urgency in addressing the needs of both internal and external stakeholders
- Additional duties as assigned

- Performing Cost/Value Assessments on supplier offerings
- Negotiating costs for purchased components and materials
- Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance concerning quality and delivery
- Tracking Stock Outs and Monitoring Inventory Levels
- Managing material and inventory levels through forecasting, planning, and analysis
- Participating in team meetings, training sessions, and workshops to convey and gather information necessary for job functions
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management
- APICS Certification is advantageous
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities in forecasting, planning, and inventory management.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Exceptional negotiation capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Understanding of cost reduction strategies and initiatives.
- Previous relevant experience is preferred.
