Position Overview

The Senior Accounting Associate plays a vital role in supporting the Accounting Manager by ensuring the precise and timely preparation and documentation of intricate financial records and transactions. This position is integral to achieving the objectives of the Accounting Manager, particularly in relation to the Billing process.

Key Responsibilities

Communication:
  • Collaborates with various departments including Accounting, Administration, and Engineering to maintain clear and accurate communication.
  • Engages extensively with external stakeholders such as clients, consultants, and vendors.
  • Responds promptly and courteously to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal staff.
  • Prepares and disseminates correspondence with both internal and external parties, often handling confidential information.
  • Clarifies accounting procedures and financial data to relevant parties as necessary.
  • Safeguards the organization's integrity by maintaining confidentiality.
Compliance and Procedures:
  • Adheres to established company protocols.
  • Reviews and rectifies discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Assists in securing and maintaining corporate registrations, licenses, and contracts to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Documents departmental processes and recommends improvements as needed.
Data Processing and Bookkeeping:
  • Records financial transactions across multiple systems, requiring independent decision-making for data entry and regular report analysis.
  • Prepares, compiles, verifies, and processes bills, vouchers, invoices, requisitions, and purchase orders.
  • Enters data and conducts complex reconciliations and comparisons.
  • Prepares and submits journal entries.
  • Executes complex calculations and maintains databases with updated customer and account information.
  • Assists in year-end reporting as required.
  • May aid in budget preparation.
Project Involvement:
  • Leads and participates in project-based initiatives.
  • Ensures adherence to project timelines and schedules.
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Contributes to the design and creation of financial reports.
  • Generates and distributes regular reports for review and analysis.
  • Reviews and interprets financial reports as necessary.
  • Assists in the preparation of accurate year-end reports.
  • Organizes and maintains documentation for filing and data processing.
Team Support:
  • Provides assistance with related bookkeeping tasks as required.
  • Offers support to team members as needed.
  • May perform duties at the Accounting Assistant II level.
  • Enhances job knowledge through participation in educational opportunities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or similar).
  • Five years of related experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently uses hands or fingers to handle objects or controls. The employee may occasionally stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.

Work Environment:

SESI offers a hybrid work policy. Due to the collaborative nature of this role, it is essential that this team member's regular working schedule aligns with the company's operational hours.
