Operations Assistant

POSITION: Operations Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
FLSA STATUS: Part-time Hourly, Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

ASM Global is seeking an Operations Assistant to support the daily functions necessary for the effective management and servicing of our facilities and events. This role is crucial in ensuring that all operational aspects run smoothly and efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the director in overseeing all operational facets, including engineering, grounds maintenance, technical services, event management, public safety, and custodial operations.
  • Coordinate operational activities with various departments and external contractors involved in events.
  • Implement and enforce facility policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and develop appropriate solutions. Investigate and resolve operational challenges and complaints.
  • Communicate directives clearly and promptly to relevant departments.
  • Ensure that the operations team is well-informed to optimize facility usage and staffing.
  • Guarantee readiness of the facility and seamless execution of events.
  • Supervise the upkeep of the physical infrastructure and systems.
  • Support the Manager on Duty as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management or Maintenance Engineering from a technical college.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in operations within a comparable facility.
  • Additional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fundamental knowledge of food and beverage operations.
  • Basic mathematical skills for accurate cash handling.
  • Elementary food preparation skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks effectively.
  • Positive demeanor and professional appearance.
  • This role requires regular lifting of up to 25 lbs, as well as significant standing and walking.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

In performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, use hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds and be capable of walking long distances. This role involves working in various environments, both indoor and outdoor, and may require standing or sitting for extended periods.
