POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facility Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the physical infrastructure, equipment upkeep, and financial disbursements. This role also serves as the Safety Coordinator, overseeing the establishment and implementation of the facility's Safety Program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Oversight: Manage and supervise the financial disbursement processes, ensuring prompt and precise payment for facility-related expenditures.
  • Operational Management: Direct and oversee daily operational activities of the facility, including maintenance, repairs, and safety measures to guarantee smooth and effective operations.
  • Inventory Control: Supervise and coordinate inventory management tasks, including stock control, procurement, and distribution of supplies essential for facility operations.
  • Dietary Services Leadership: Lead and manage the dietary services team, ensuring the provision of high-quality food services that comply with regulatory standards and meet resident satisfaction.
  • Environmental Services Management: Oversee the environmental services team, ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and waste management practices are upheld to maintain a safe and hygienic facility.
  • Team Development: Provide mentorship and support to departmental staff, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional growth.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to applicable regulations, standards, and policies concerning facility operations, inventory management, and dietary and environmental services.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the formulation and monitoring of budgets, managing costs within approved limits while maximizing resource efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing processes and operational efficiencies across all areas of responsibility.
  • Collaboration: Promote effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including department heads, administrative personnel, and external service providers.
  • Knowledge of Standards: Demonstrate understanding of building codes, minimum standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain an inventory of facility-owned medical equipment and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Adhere to a preventive maintenance schedule that includes regular inspections of buildings, grounds, utility systems, and departmental equipment.
  • Routine Repairs: Proactively conduct routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems as needed.
  • Documentation: Record findings from inspections on Maintenance Log Cards.
  • Scheduling Repairs: Organize and coordinate the repair or replacement of equipment, buildings, grounds, or utility systems.
  • Safety Oversight: Conduct periodic safety inspections throughout the facility to ensure a hazard-free environment.
  • Committee Leadership: Lead the Safety Committee, ensuring safety concerns are addressed and resolved during regular meetings.
  • Training Development: Create and deliver training programs for facility staff regarding safety protocols.
  • Accessibility: Remain accessible 24/7 to the facility Administrator, unless alternative arrangements have been communicated.
  • Staff Selection: Participate in the selection process for available positions within Plant Operations, which includes Housekeeping, Engineering, and Maintenance staff.
  • Performance Monitoring: Evaluate staff performance using established review processes and provide feedback as necessary.
  • Safety Practices: Demonstrate problem-solving skills in maintenance and safety areas.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION:

    High School diploma or equivalent is required.

    EXPERIENCE:

    A minimum of five years of relevant building maintenance experience, focusing on maintenance, repair, and semi-skilled craftsmanship across various trades, including plumbing, electrical, and painting. Supervisory experience is preferred.

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

    A valid Driver's license is required.
