Administrative Support Specialist

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative support to the Medical Center Director, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations of the office. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $54,380 - $74,483 per year.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate travel arrangements, schedule appointments, and manage calendars for the Medical Center Director
- Screen calls, visitors, and emails, responding to routine inquiries and escalating complex issues to senior staff
- Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations, proofreading for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain confidential files and databases, ensuring compliance with agency regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of events and projects
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of specialized experience in administrative support, preferably in a healthcare or government setting
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
