We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Children's Hospital & Medical Center. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients and families have an exceptional first experience with our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and Scheduling: Receive and process patient registrations, verify demographic and insurance information, and schedule appointments.
- Financial Responsibilities: Collect copayments and payments on account, post payments to patient accounts, and review balances due.
- Communication and Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, answering questions and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Data Entry and Management: Accurately enter and manage patient data in our electronic health record system, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other departments, including nursing, physician offices, and billing, to ensure seamless patient care and efficient operations.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of customer service experience and one year of experience working in a healthcare or insurance setting preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
