Position Title: Lead Elevator Mechanic

Department: Elevator Services

Compensation Range:

$35.00 - $60.00

Position Summary:

The Lead Elevator Mechanic role involves executing field service operations on various elevator systems, including Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors (VRCs) and Rack and Pinion systems, utilizing industry-standard methods and practices. The individual in this position is expected to possess comprehensive technical expertise in the elevator sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Represent the organization on-site with professionalism and expertise.
  2. Exhibit advanced knowledge in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Application, and Estimation disciplines.
  3. Demonstrate the capability to oversee a diverse team of personnel.
  4. Show initiative in decision-making and supervising tasks in alignment with company interests.
  5. Collaborate effectively as a team member at all levels to ensure project completion.
  6. Support the organization in maintaining high standards of appearance, conduct, and productivity.
  7. Obtain and maintain the necessary tools to fulfill the aforementioned technical responsibilities with excellence.
  8. Commit to working in a safe and healthy manner.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 4 years of experience in the elevator industry or a related field.
  2. Possession or eligibility for a CET or NEIEP elevator mechanic's certification.
  3. Possession or eligibility for a TWIC card.
  4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Proficiency in computer applications.
  7. Exceptional customer service capabilities.
  8. Ability to pass drug/alcohol screening and background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience in a similar role.
  2. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  3. In-depth knowledge of elevator systems.

Required Skills:

  1. Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  2. Familiarity with tools and trade practices.
  3. Dependability and reliability.
  4. Strong organizational skills.

Job Demands:

Physical requirements include lifting 25+ lbs., reaching, carrying, stooping, bending, climbing ladders/stairs, prolonged standing/sitting, and hand-eye coordination. The role may involve working from heights, making decisions, and managing stress related to deadlines. Additional demands include out-of-town travel, customer and vendor interactions, driving motor vehicles, and demonstrating leadership abilities while prioritizing multiple tasks.
