Are you prepared to leverage your expertise at Northrop Grumman? Our Defense Systems division invites you to become a member of our team as a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician, contributing to a comprehensive maintenance program.
Position Overview: The Navy E-6 serves as an airborne command center and communication relay, primarily utilized for extensive patrols across U.S. borders and in transit zone nations. This platform, now upgraded to the E-6B standard, transmits directives from the National Command Authority to fleet ballistic missile submarines, a mission referred to as TACAMO ("Take Charge And Move Out").
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures and components of varying complexity.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and structural modifications.
- Provide technical support to structural and mechanical engineers as well as clients.
- Interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs and modifications.
- Document maintenance activities in aircraft logs and records, guiding junior technicians during modifications and maintenance tasks.
Additional Duties:
- Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories.
- Assemble and install wire bundles and other electrical components.
- Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical components and non-complex electrical systems.
- Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections.
- Execute various maintenance inspections, including 100-hour and periodic checks.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work in a regulated environment during designated hours.
- Willingness to adapt to changing physical locations as required.
- Capability to work under various physical conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A&P License.
- Experience with E-6B/707 aircraft.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
