Position Overview

AECOM is seeking a dynamic and skilled Geospatial Analytics Specialist for immediate employment. This role will be based in our Technology Services Group, reporting to the Mobile Technology & Remote Sensing Manager. The successful candidate will support a range of internal and external clients within the Environment Business line, contributing to various projects such as environmental assessments, disaster recovery, and infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze technical requirements to ensure compliance with data collection and development standards, implementing quality assurance protocols.
  • Design and manage geospatial data collection applications utilizing tools such as ArcGIS Fields, Collector, Survey123, Workforce, and Dashboards within AGOL (ArcGIS Online).
  • Create and implement dashboard applications using R (Shiny), Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Collaborate with AI and Machine Learning teams to develop and apply geospatial analysis models.
  • Utilize Python, Model Builder, and other scripting tools to automate workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in managing and deploying data analytics reporting alongside dashboarding efforts.
  • Ensure quality assurance of both spatial and non-spatial data according to established standards.
  • Stay updated on current and emerging GIS and data analytics software and technologies.
  • Promote GIS and data science services to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle records review.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with R (Shiny), Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Proficiency in Python, Data Structures, Statistics, Data Visualization, and Machine Learning.
  • Familiarity with interactive web-based geospatial mapping applications using QGIS, R, Tableau, and GitHub.
  • Background or certification in Data Science.
  • Progressive experience in Geostatistics, GIS, and mobile/web GIS systems.
  • Experience with ESRI's ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Online (AGOL) or Enterprise GIS Systems.
  • Experience with other geospatial software such as GRASS and QGIS.
  • Comfortable with fieldwork and occasional travel to support project activities.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Understanding of relational database design and functionality.
  • Ability to learn and implement best practices for data management, including workflows and governance models.
  • Knowledge of cartographic design principles.
  • FAA Part 107 sUAS Pilot Certificate and experience with UAS data processing applications.

The compensation rate will be determined based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is competitive.
