Job Overview

Timmons Group is in search of a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Roadway Design Transportation Group to contribute to our Roadway Design Transportation Group based in our Raleigh, NC office.

Key Responsibilities for the ideal candidate encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Designing horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for road enhancement initiatives.
  • Modeling and developing roadway improvement projects utilizing AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
  • Employing 3D visualization tools for effective client and public communication.
  • Creating plan sheets and assembling project documentation for submission.
  • Conducting roadway and drainage calculations using software and reference materials.
  • Assisting in the formulation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Researching and acquiring available GIS open-source data.
  • Performing field observations and data collection for project analysis and discussions.
  • Adopting new technologies to enhance personal skills and group expertise.
  • Participating in project meetings with clients and contractors.

Qualifications for a successful candidate include, but are not limited to:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Preferred candidates will have a minimum of two years of experience in transportation civil engineering, specifically in roadway design.
  • Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoDesk Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Experience with VDOT is preferred.
  • EIT certification is preferred.
