Position Overview:
The American Girl NYC retail store seeks a vibrant individual for the Regular Part-Time Sales Department Clerk position. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills to deliver prompt and outstanding sales support in a customer-focused environment. This position offers 30 hours of work per week with benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers promptly and assist them effectively, managing multiple inquiries simultaneously.
- Identify and fulfill customer merchandise and service needs by sharing product insights, addressing inquiries, and guiding customers to products, including suggestive upselling and awareness of stock availability.
- Inform customers about store events, promotions, and activities.
- Accurately process all point-of-sale transactions in a timely manner.
- Resolve customer issues and provide suggestions to convert returns into exchanges.
- Communicate merchandise and service requirements to management in a timely manner.
- Support team and company objectives through collaborative efforts.
Candidate Profile:
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous sales experience in specialty retail or service sectors is preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency is required; familiarity with POS systems is advantageous.
- Experience working with children is a plus.
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends is essential.
