Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatic Coordinator to join our team at the YMCA of Central Kentucky. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the progress of our established aquatic programs and staff, while also acting as a communication link between lower-level staff and the Sr. Aquatic Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Supervising: Monitor lifeguards, monitor scheduled shifts, subs, and shift changes, and fill in as needed.
  • Programming: Facilitate swim testing processes for members, camp, and other programs.
  • Facility: Assist with upkeep of facilities and program equipment, ensure overall cleanliness and sanitation of the pool area, and test water chemistry as required.
  • Service and Administration: Provide excellent customer service, assist with the collection and storage of certifications and reports, and serve as an effective member of the YMCA staff team.
Requirements
  • A 2-year aquatic background is preferred, with current lifeguard certifications.
  • Experience managing a group of people, strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate standard office and aquatic equipment, perform basic math skills, and read and interpret documents.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.

This is a full-time position, working Sunday through Thursday, with a general schedule of 9:30am-6pm on Sundays and 10am-6:30pm on Mondays through Thursdays. The position also requires attendance at monthly in-service meetings on Sunday evenings from 6pm-8pm.
