Aquatics Coordinator Job Description

The Aquatics Coordinator is a key member of the YMCA of Central Kentucky team, responsible for ensuring the success of our aquatic programs and facilities. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multitask and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling and Supervision: Monitor lifeguards, schedule shifts, and ensure staff rotation schedules are followed.
  • Programming: Facilitate swim testing processes and ensure all aquatic staff, members, and guests follow rules and regulations.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist with upkeep of facilities and program equipment, and ensure overall cleanliness and sanitation of the pool area.
  • Service and Administration: Provide excellent customer service, assist with collection and storage of certifications and reports, and serve as an effective member of the YMCA staff team.
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and provide excellent customer service.
  • Exemplify the character development core values of the YMCA: Caring, Respect, Responsibility, and Honesty.
  • Ability to operate standard office and aquatic equipment.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, sit or stand for extended periods, and exhibit manual dexterity to accurately work on the phone, computer keyboard, and other related office equipment.
