ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7-10 years of leadership experience in design producibility, project management, production process innovation, Lean manufacturing practices, team development, and problem-solving.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing process engineers, manufacturing planning, facilities maintenance, and the implementation of safety and environmental strategies. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising the manufacturing process engineering activities within the organization. The manager collaborates with site and organizational teams to devise methods for maintaining, enhancing, or improving existing manufacturing processes. The position entails the development and validation of new production processes and the upgrade of current ones, ensuring a smooth transition into production. The individual serves as a consultant to the process engineering team on various projects and operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control and manufacturing teams to ensure processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing equipment.
  • Evaluate the producibility of new designs through various process techniques and equipment capability studies.
  • Set performance goals, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  • Initiate and oversee engineering work related to the design and development of production tools and equipment.
  • Develop production readiness plans for new designs and conduct necessary reviews.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and productivity enhancements.
  • Manage and monitor the manufacturing engineering budget and expenses.
  • Recruit and train Manufacturing Process Engineering staff to support plant operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong leadership skills in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Facilities management.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, maintenance tracking, and compliance systems.
  • Advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to support cross-functional teams in digital factory initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, CAD, and SolidWorks.
  • Experience in production tooling and fixture development.
  • Fundamental knowledge of machining processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
