Position Overview

As a vital member of the BCP Maintenance team, the Senior Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design and installation of new or replacement electrical and automation systems. This role involves developing standards for reliability and establishing guidelines for engineering and maintenance activities related to these systems. Additionally, the engineer ensures that engineering drawings and technical documentation are consistently updated.

The Senior Engineer will also manage daily maintenance tasks for equipment and systems under their purview. They may be called upon to assist with other maintenance activities during equipment failures, line shutdowns, or scheduled maintenance periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and implement enhancements to process equipment using a reliability-centered maintenance approach.
  • Lead the design and execution of electrical projects and initiatives within the facility.
  • Create detailed work plans for equipment upgrades during shutdowns.
  • Maintain up-to-date engineering drawings, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Provide guidance to maintenance personnel and contract workers.
  • Optimize inventory levels of electrical spare parts, develop efficient supply contracts, and reduce holding costs.
  • Design and implement training programs for maintenance staff focusing on operations, maintenance, and safety.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in electrical safety throughout the facility.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Support various maintenance activities across BCP as needed.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an electrical engineering capacity.
  • At least 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance engineering.
Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates may also possess:

  • 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance engineering.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing with a focus on automation project implementation and successful outcomes.
  • Project management experience.
