Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Automation Controls Specialist to join our team at Exclusive Search Group. This role involves the design and implementation of advanced electrical and control systems tailored to meet specific project needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Development: Design and construct electrical/control systems from the ground up, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
  • Technical Drafting: Employ drafting tools, preferably AutoCAD, to create detailed design layouts.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with various project disciplines to facilitate seamless integration of systems.
  • Design Optimization: Work closely with facility design teams to enhance panel placements, reduce voltage drops, and improve overall hardware arrangements.
  • Vendor Oversight: Manage vendor engagements to guarantee compliance with safety, functionality, and contractual obligations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to local, governmental, and client standards and codes.
  • Risk Management: Develop and execute strategies to mitigate risks associated with projects.
  • Safety Assurance: Design and evaluate safety-critical components, implementing redundant systems to boost reliability.
  • Complex System Design: Create and integrate systems that involve intricate motion and automation processes.
  • Documentation: Produce thorough documentation, including system configurations, design specifications, schematics, network layouts, and maintenance protocols.
  • Technical Analysis: Conduct design calculations related to short circuit protection, harmonics, noise reduction, power consumption, load flow, and safety system implementation.
  • Ride System Expertise: Experience in designing ride systems for entertainment attractions is preferred.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Availability to work off-hours during installation and commissioning phases as required.
Qualifications:
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities with a talent for managing multiple priorities.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in electrical engineering with practical experience in control system design.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in electrical or controls engineering, with familiarity in ASTM standards and safety engineering.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with significant relevant experience.
  • Industry Acumen: Knowledge of contract documents and specifications, with a keen ability to accurately gather and document field data.
  • Design Proficiency: Competence in system design functions, showcasing strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with major industrial hardware and software, such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
