BID MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

As a Bid Management Specialist at Space Exploration Technologies Corp, you will oversee the entire process of preparing and submitting competitive proposals for our innovative services, including launch and satellite communications. Your role will involve crafting detailed proposals that highlight the advantages and unique features of our cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret complex customer requirements for new business opportunities.
  • Establish and manage proposal timelines effectively.
  • Create structured outlines for proposals.
  • Coordinate with various authors across the organization, ensuring deadlines and expectations are met.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to gather essential information for both commercial and governmental proposals.
  • Develop persuasive arguments and executive summaries tailored to each specific opportunity.
  • Resolve outstanding issues related to proposal content, including text, figures, and tables.
  • Identify and create supporting graphics that enhance the proposal's visual appeal.
  • Edit and refine content for clarity, coherence, and readability.
  • Conduct thorough fact-checking and identify any technical inaccuracies.
  • Ensure compliance with company formatting and editorial standards.
  • Guide proposals through the necessary review and approval processes.
  • Prepare final documents for distribution, including printing and delivery logistics.
  • Enhance and optimize proposal templates and processes.
  • Maintain a repository of frequently used proposal materials.
  • Provide editorial and communication support to various departments within SpaceX.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in document publishing and editing.
  • 5+ years of experience in comprehensive editing, including structural and factual accuracy.
  • 2+ years of experience in professional document preparation using Microsoft Office or equivalent software.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in fields such as journalism, English, or technical writing.
  • Experience in proposal or grant writing.
  • Understanding of government and commercial proposal processes.
  • Ability to translate complex jargon into clear, engaging content.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with SpaceX's mission and competitive landscape.
