Position Overview:
We are seeking a Software Asset Management Specialist to assist in overseeing our expanding portfolio of software resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the catalog of licensed software and assets, including maintenance agreements and renewal schedules.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for software acquisition and negotiation, outlining critical milestones and timelines.
- Facilitate the procurement and negotiation processes for software agreements.
- Evaluate various software licensing frameworks for cost-effectiveness, aligning them with current and anticipated business requirements.
- Identify optimal licensing utilization strategies and create training materials to educate users on software usage to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with the IT department to establish systems for tracking, managing, and reporting software installations and usage across different locations and departments.
- Document software assets and licensing structures comprehensively.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in software management and licensing.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with software contracts and procurement processes.
- Practical experience with major software vendors (e.g., productivity, engineering design).
- Understanding of software asset management principles.
- Proficiency in office productivity applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel).
- Experience with software inventory and deployment solutions such as Microsoft SCCM, JAMF, and MDM tools.
- Capability to lead meetings for diverse groups.
- Adaptability and ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Self-motivated with strong leadership and innovative skills.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
